Question 347649: This is one problem that I need to get all of them right in order to get credit for any of them. I will also show what I got for some of the answers. I am just confused how to get the x-intercept.
The equation
9 x + 5 y + 2 =0
has the x-intercept_____ and the y-intercept_-2/5_ .
It defines a straight line of slope__-9/5__.
The line defined by the equation
6.5 x + 2.3 y + 7.1 =0
has the x-intercept_____ and the y-intercept__-7.1/2.3__ .
Its slope is__-6.5/2.3__.
The line defined by the equation
-4.2 x + 7.4 y - 3.6 =0
has the x-intercept_____ and the y-intercept__3.6/7.4__ .
Its slope is__4.2/7.4___.
I assume that the answers I got are right but I really can't figure out how to get the x-intercept. Even when I graph the line it still doesn't add up and is wrong. Please help me!
