y = mx + b ------- Slope-intercept form of a linear equation
(x, y) being a point on the line, m is the slope, and b is the y-intercept
Your equation: 6x + 10y + 1 = 0
10y + 1 = - 6x ------ Subtracting 6x
10y = - 6x - 1 ------ Subtracting 1
Slope of above equation:
Since parallel lines have congruent slopes, slope of new line, or
Point on line to be formed: (1, 3) ------ Point-slope form ------ Substituting values ------ Adding 3 to both sides ----- Equation being sought
