1) Determine which points lie on this curve. So you plug in various values of x to get corresponding values of y. If x = 0, then y = -9. So we know the point (0,-9) lies on this curve. If x = 1, then y = -5. The point (1,-5) lies on this curve as well. Do this a bunch of times to generate a bunch of points. A table is a handy tool to keep track of them all.
2) Plot all of the points found in step 1. This all happens on the same xy coordinate axis
3) Draw a curve through all of the points. The more points, the more accurate the graph.
