Question 83472: I have been trying to solve these equations by graphing them but I'm getting a little lost.
1. a 2x-y=4
b 2x-y=6
2. a x-2y=8
b 3x-2y=12
3. a 3x-6y=9
b x-2y=3
The values for m and b in the following system has to be found so that the solution to the system is (-3,4)
5x+7y=b
mx+y=22

You can put this solution on YOUR website! TO SOLVE THESE LINE EQUATION YOU MUST FIRST CHANGE THEM INTO THE STANDARD EQUATION FOR A LINE THUS:
1A) 2x-y=4, -y=-2x+4, y=2x-4 (red line)
1B) 2x-y=6, -y=-2x+6, y=2x-6 (green line)
(graph 300x200 pixels, x from -6 to 5, y from -10 to 10, of TWO functions y = 2x -4 and y = 2x -6).
-----------------------------------------------------------
2A) X-2Y=8,-2Y=-X+8, Y=-X/-2+8/-2, Y=X/2-4 (RED LINE)
2B) 3X-2Y=12, -2Y=-3X=12, Y=-3X/-2+12/-2, Y=3X/2-6 (GREEN LINE)
(graph 300x200 pixels, x from -6 to 5, y from -10 to 10, of TWO functions y = x/2 -4 and y = 3x/2 -6).
--------------------------------------------------------------
I'LL LEAVE THE REST FOR YOU TO PRACTICE WITH!!!!!
