You can put this solution on YOUR website!
if you put the equations into slope-intercept form (y=mx+b), you will see that the lines have the SAME slope ... this means that they are parallel

x+2y=4 ... 2y=-x+4 ... y=%28-1%2F2%29x%2B2

2x+4y=5 ... 4y=-2x+5 ... y=%28-1%2F2%29x%2B%285%2F4%29
