Question 78566: How do I write the equation of the line with given slope and y-intercept. Then graph each line using the slope and y-intercept?
Slope: 5; y-intercept: (0, 2)
I'm still so lost!

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Any line adheres to the following equation:

m is the slope, b is the y intercept.
From your problem, the slope is 5.
The y intercept is 2.
Hence the equation of the line is:
To graph this, start by drawing a single point on the Y axis
at the Y intercept - namely (0,2). Now to draw the line, you
need to understand the what slope means - it is
this is the change in Y divided by the change in X. In your case,
this is .
So to graph this, from your Y-intercept point,go "up" 5 points in
the Y direction, and to the "right" 1 point in the X direction. You
will now be at the point (1,7). Connect this point to your
Y-intercept point, and you have your line!
