Question 765667: 2x+4y=2 and x+y=4
Answer by suruman(21) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 2x + 4y = 2 .......(a)
x + y = 4 .......(b)
Multiplying equation (b) by 2 on L.H.S and R.H.S ,
2x + 2y = 8 .......(c)
Subtracting (a) by (c),
2y = 2-8 = -6
y=-3
Substituting value of y in equation (b),
x + (-3) = 4
x = 4 + 3 = 7
Thus the solution pair (x,y) for the above set of equations is:
(x,y)=(7,-3)
