Assume 3 values of x which is less than 1 and 3 values greater than 1 then solve for y by substituting the assumed values to the equation.
x = 0 x = -1 x = -3
2x + 1 2x + 1 2x + 1
__________ _________ _________
x - 1 x - 1 x - 1
