Question 748293: Find the equation of a parabola through each set of three points. You do NOT have to explain, please just give me your equation you got. I am just checking my answers :) . I appreciate you SOOO much for answering my questions. THANKS.
1. (1,5) (0,6) (2,3)
2. (-5,0) (0,0) (8,100)
3. (4,-4) (0,1) (3,-2)
4. (1,3) (6,0) (0,0)
5. (2,2) (5,-3) (0,-1)
6. (0,4) (4,0) (-4,4)
THANKS SOO SO SO MUCH! :)
My answers:
1. y= -x^2 +6
2. y= 25/26x^2 + 125/26 + 0
3. y= -1/4x^2 -7/4x+1
4. y= -3/5x^2+ 18/5+0
5. -7/30x^2 + 23/30 -1
6. y= -1/8x^2 -1/2x+4

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You can check your own answers. Take the x coordinate of each of the points and substitute it for x in the function. Then do the arithmetic. If you get the y coordinate for that point, then that point is on the parabola represented by the equation. Do this for each of the three points for each of your equations. All three points have to be right.
Just a cursory glance tells me the first two are incorrect. I quit looking after that.

Egw to Beta kai to Sigma
My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
