Question 71021: Can you please help me solve this problem...instructions...determine which two equations represent perpendicular lines.
(a)y=4/9x-3
(b)y=3x-4/9
(c)y=-1/3x+4/9
(d)y=1/3x-4/9

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Perpindicular lines! Wow! Well, the slopes are going to be the opposite reciprocal. For example, we will say that the slope is 3. A line perpindicular to the line with a slope of 3 would have a slope of -1/3. The reciprocal of 3 is 1/3, and the opposite of positive is negative. The slope, or m, is always with the x.
y = mx + b.
B is the y intercept and m is the slope!
