Question 702821: Question: Identify the vertex and give the minimum or maximum value of the function:
y = |x-3|+4
Graph: http://i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y397/sledd144618/AlgebraT1ExamQuestion4_zpsa9a767e3.jpg
I tried just graphing it, but I can't figure out how the function gives the graph, so I can't get the min/max values.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

The picture IS the graph. The minimum value is right there for all to see. But you don't even need the picture. Since the absolute value function ALWAYS produces a non-negative result, the smallest value the absolute value part of your function can assume is zero. Then since 4 is always 4, what do you suppose is the minimum value?

As for the maximum value, is there any uppper limit on the value of the function?
