You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Is the function y=2x-5/x-2 which means y=2x-5%2Fx-2
or y=(2x-5)/(x-2) which means y=%282x-5%29%2F%28x-2%29 ????????
You said second one:
y=%282x-5%29%2F%28x-2%29
Intercept means where it crosses one axis. For x-intercept, y is zero. For y-intercept, x is zero. The other letter is zero.
So, y-intercept (x=0):
y=%282%2A0-5%29%2F%280-2%29=%28-5%29%2F%28-2%29=5%2F2
y%5Bintercept%5D=5%2F2
and x-intercept (y=0):
0=%282x-5%29%2F%28x-2%29
0=2x-5
x%5Bintercept%5D=5%2F2
Sometimes it happens to be the same number for both x and y intercepts (like in this case), but it is not the rule.
