Question 632080: hello~ I could really use some help and by the way, may be in the market for a full time tutor for the next month~~
here is the question that I need help with~
graph the line passing through the given point and having the given slope.
give the slope intercept form of the equation of the line if possible
(1,-3),m= -5 over 2
the first problem is showing the line on a graph
the second is showing the slope intercept form
thank you so very much~ have a great day

Hi,
line passing through Pt(1,-3) and having the given slope
tells us that as x decreases by 2, y increases by 5, for ex
(1,-3)
(-1,2) | x decreases by 2, y increases by 5
(-3,7 ) | x decreases by 2, y increases by 5
plotting these 3 points and connecting with a line,
one can see line crosses y-axis at y = -1/2 (the y-intercept)
slope intercept form: y = mx + b is y = (-5/2)x - 1/2
