You can put this solution on YOUR website! Can you explain to me how to solve this system by graphing? The problem is 3x+2y=6 x-y=7
SOLUTION:
FIRST OF ALL TAKE THE FIRST EQUATION
3x+2y =6
when x = 0, 3* 0 + 2y =6
==> y = 3
when x =1 , 3 * 1+ 2y = 6
==> 2y = 6-3=3
==> y = 3/2 = 1.5
when y = 0, 3x +2*0 = 6
==> 3x = 6
==> x = 6/3 = 2
when y =1 , 3x + 2*1 =6
==> 3x = 6 - 2= 3
==> x = 1
so we have the points like thios,
( x, y )
( o, 3 )
(1 ,1.5)
(2 , 0 )
(1 , 1 )
Now plot the lines on the graph, and join them.
Similarly take other equations and find out values for x and y and make a list like above
Now plot the points in the graph paper.
Join them
then the two graphs will appear like this,
For graphing in computer you must have to convert the equations in terms of x.
for example here we have to change them like,
y =6/2-3x/2
==>y = 3 - 3x/2
and x -y = 7
==> y = x - 7

now find of out the point of intersection of these two graphs
which is( 4, -4) the solution of the equations.
