How would I graph 4x+5 > 2(x+3) ?

First solve it:

                  4x + 5 > 2(x + 5)
                  4x + 5 > 2x + 10
                      -5        -5
                -------------------
                  4x     > 2x + 5
                 -2x      -2x
                -------------------
                  2x     >      5

                  2x/2   >  5/2

                     x   >  2.5

Draw a number line:

       ---------------------------------------------
        -4  -3  -2  -1   0   1   2   3   4   5   6

Mark the point -2.5 which is half way between 2 and 3
with an open circle "o"

       ----------------------------o----------------
        -4  -3  -2  -1   0   1   2   3   4   5   6

Now since x > 2.5 indicates that x can be any number
greater than 2.5, and these numbers are all to the
right of 2.5, we shade the line to the right of 2.5
and when the line stops we indicate that theoretically
the graph goes forever to the right, so we draw an 
arrowhead on the end of the shaded region pointing to 
the right:
