Question 564796: how do you solve this....write an equation of the line that passes through the points. use the slope-intercept form (if possible). If not possible, use the general form. (use the variables x and y). (-6,6) , (4,-2) sketch the above graph.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x1 y1 x2 y2
-6 6 4 -2

slope m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
(-2-6)/(4-(-6))
(-8/10)
m= - 4/ 5

Plug value of the slope and point (-6 ,6) in
Y = m x + b
6.00 = 24/5 + b
b= 6 - 24/5
b= 6/ 5
So the equation will be
Y = - 4/5 x + 6/5
