Question 560111: How do you graph 5x+4y>18 ? i have done a chart with the "x" coordinate values of (0,2,4,6) but im having trouble finding the "y" value for the expression. So far I have the coordinates (0,4.5),(2,2),(4,-.5) and (6,-3) is this right?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
How do you graph 5x+4y>18 ? i have done a chart with the "x" coordinate values of (0,2,4,6) but im having trouble finding the "y" value for the expression. So far I have the coordinates (0,4.5),(2,2),(4,-.5) and (6,-3) is this right?
------
Solve for "y":
y > (-5/4)x + 4 1/2
--------
Graph the boundary as a dashed line:
y = (-5/4)x + (18/4)
(0 , 9/2)
(4 , -1/2)
(8 , -5 1/2)
------
Plot the points and draw the dashed line.
----------------------
Shade the half-plane above the boundary because
you want y GREATER than (-5/4)x + 4 1/2
