: I missed 2 weeks of class and missed the intercept section. What are the steps to Find the y-intercept and x-intercept of the graph of the equation 2x%2B3y-6=0 From what I gather x needs to be set to zero, then the formula worked out? This question is from textbook Algebra for College Students

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Basically, that's what you need to do: Set x = 0, then solve for y to get the y-intercept and set y = 0, then solve for x to get the x-intercept.
2x+%2B+3y+-6+=+0 Set x = 0, solve for y.
3y+-+6+=+0 Add 6 to both sides.
3y+=+6 Divide both sides by 3.
y+=+2 The y-intercept!
2x+%2B+3y+-+6+=+0 Set y = 0, solve for x.
2x+-+6+=+0 Add 6 to both sides.
2x+=+6 Divide both sides by 2.
x+=+3 The x-intercept!
