Question 532539: complete the ordered pairs,(1,_) and (_,9) so they satisfy the equation y=-9x +18. this is what I have so far
y=-9x+18
-9(1)+18
y=9
I substituted 18 for the y and came up with 18=-9x+18 and got zero, but zero is not an option in the homework. Can anyone show me what I did wrong?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
complete the ordered pairs,(1,_) and (_,9) so they satisfy the equation y=-9x +18. this is what I have so far
y=-9x+18
-9(1)+18
y=9
I substituted 18 for the y and came up with 18=-9x+18 and got zero, but zero is not an option in the homework. Can anyone show me what I did wrong?
-------------
Sub as you did
y = -9x + 18
9 = -9*1 + 18
9 = 9 so it's correct.
----------------
For (_,9)
y = -9x + 18
9 = -9x + 18
x = 1
It's the same point.
