Question 51891: Graph 2x-4y<8
This is what I did:
-4y<-2x+8
-4y/-4<-2x/-4+8/-4
y<1/2x-2
Is this right....please help!! Found 2 solutions by funmath, tutorcecilia:Answer by funmath(2933) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The good news is that you did everything right until the last step. When you multiply or divide an inequality by a negative number, you must flip the inequality symbol. This will give you:
y>1/2x-2
Once you have done this, you graph the line using a dashed line. Because y is greater than the line, you shade above the dashed line. I am new to this and cannot figure out how to get the computer to show the dashing of the line and how to shade above it.

This is what I did:
-4y<-2x+8 [This is correct]
-4y/-4<-2x/-4+8/-4 [Flip the sign when multiplying or dividing by a negative #]
y>1/2x-2
