If your equation were:
-3x+=+2y-10 and if you were to solve for y, you would get:
y+=+%28-3%2F2%29x+%2B+5
Let's see how that works:
-3x+=+2y+-+10 First, you would add 10 to both sides of the equation.
-3x+%2B+10+=+2y Then you would divide both sides by 2.
%28-3%2F2%29x+%2B+5+=+y
You could write this as:
y+=+-1.5x+%2B+5
You will notice that the x does not disappear just because you rearranged the equation.
