SOLUTION: Graph inequalities on a number line:
|3x+5|>-11
This is what I did:
3x+5<11 3x+5>-11
3x+5-5<11-5 3x+5-5>-11-5
3/3x<6/3 3/3x>-16/3
x<2

Question 50594: Graph inequalities on a number line:
|3x+5|>-11
This is what I did:
3x+5<11 3x+5>-11
3x+5-5<11-5 3x+5-5>-11-5
3/3x<6/3 3/3x>-16/3
x<2 x>-16/3 or -5 1/3
Then I placed a hollow point on -5 1/3 and a hollow point on 2 and shaded the line in between. Am I correct, or just way off?
You can put this solution on YOUR website! |3x+5|>-11
Since absolute value is always greater than or equal to
zero, won't it always be greater that -11, no matter
what that x value is?
I think the solution set is "all Real Numbers".
