Question 48739: I need help. I have been trying to graph this problem for a few days. It is 25x^2+4y^2>or=100
I know this is an ellipse or circle. Does this problem need to be solved by the square root property? Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 25x^2+4y^2>or=100
x^2/4 + y^2/25 >= 1
This is an ellipse with major axis on the y-axis
and center at (0,0).
To get the y-intercepts let x=0 to get y = +5 or -5
To get the x-intercepts let y=0 to get x= +2 or -2.
The >= means the graph includes all points outside the ellipse
and all points on the ellipse.
