y=2x%2B1.....these are equations of a line in slope-intercept+form
so you can see from given that a slope of y=-1%2F2x%2B1 is m=-%281%2F2%29 and a slope of y=2x%2B1 is m1=2
If I were to flip the "2" and then change its sign, I would get " -1%2F2". In other words, these slopes are negative+reciprocals, so the lines through the points are perpendicular.
