A while back I submitted this question. Hopefully
someone can help me out. Please! Thank you. If
P(4,-5) is a point on the graph of the function
y=f(x), find the corresponding point on the graph
of y=2f(x-6). It's tough!

Every point on
y = f(x)

is shifted right 6 units by replacing x by x-6 giving

y = f(x-6)

Then every point of y = f(x-6)

is stretched vertically twice as high if it is above
the x-axis, or twice as low if below the x-axis, by
multiplying the right side by 2, giving.

y = 2f(x-6)

So the point (4,-5) on
y = f(x)

is shifted right by 6 units to the point (10, -5) on
the graph of y = f(x-6)

Then the point (10,-5), being below the x-axis, is
stretched vertically twice as low, or down to

(10,-10)

on the graph of y = 2f(x-6)
