b)
x -2 -1 0 1 2
y .25 .5 1 2 4
Given the table above, graph the function, identify the graph of the function (line, parabola, hyperbola, or exponential), explain your choice, and give the domain and range as shown in the graph, and also the domain and range of the entire function.

d) In most businesses, increasing prices of their product can have a negative effect on the number of customers of the business. A bus company in a small town has an average number of riders of 1,000 per day. The bus company charges $2.00 for a ride. They conducted a survey of their customers and found that they will lose approximately 50 customers per day for each $.25 increase in fare.
Given the description above, graph the function, identify the graph of the function (line, parabola, hyperbola, or exponential), explain your choice, and give the domain and range as shown in the graph you have drawn, and also the domain and range of the entire function excluding unrealistic values. The vertical axis is the number of riders per day, and the horizontal axis is the fare.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
b)Follow the points in your head to determine that the graphed points tell you that your graph is an exponential growth. The domain is all real numbers, and the range is all real values greater than zero.
Use this to determine equation:
y+=+a%28b%5Ex%29
1+=+a%28b%5E0%29
1+=+a
so ....
y+=+1%28b%5Ex%29
2+=+1%28b%5E1%29
2+=+b
so ....
y+=+2%5Ex
Sorry, I do not know how to show you the graph on this web site, but you can just plot the points. It should never cross the x-axis, and should have a steep side when further along the positive side of the x-axis.
d) This will be a linear line due to the equal amount decreased in the passengers.
Use this to determine equation:
M = (y - y)/(x - x) where we know the points (0 , 1000) and (1 , 950)
M = (1000 - 950)/(0 - 1)
M = (50/-1)
M = -50
y+-+yp+=+m%28x+-+xp%29
y+-+1000+=+%28-50%29%28x%29
y+=+-50x+%2B+1000 where "x" is the amount changed by $0.25 and "y" is the amount of people .... if your money changes, you just change the slope. The domain is all reals, and the range is all reals.
It is too big to graph, but i know you can graph it.
