Perpendicular lines have slopes which are negative reciprocals of each other...so for the line 4x - y = 12...the slope can be found by solving for y...we get
y = 4x - 12
here the slope is 4...
thus a line perpendicular to it has a slope of -1/4...
any line will do given that slope since you did not specify anything else about the line...so
y = (-1/4)x or y = (-1/4)x + 5 will work
