Through (-8,1) with undefined slope

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Any linear equation with an undefined slope MUST be a vertical line.

The vertical line is an equation in the form x=c where c is some number.

Since we know it goes through the point (-8,1), we know that the x value is -8.

This is true for any point that this line passes through.

Thus, the equation for this line is

x=-8

Notice that there is no y variable or slope in this equation, since the usual slope-intercept for is

y=mx%2Bb where m is the slope, and b is the y-intercept.

As far as linear equations go, vertical lines (such as the one in this problem) are the only exception to the traditional slope-intercept form.

I hope this helps!
