SOLUTION: solve the parabola
y=-1/2(x-1)^2 + 2
i got the direction which is down, vertex (-1,2), aos x=-1, the y intercept -2.5 but i need help getting the x intercept

You can put this solution on YOUR website! The x-intercepts can be found by setting y = 0 and solving for x. Solve for x. Subtract from both sides of the equation. Multiply both sides by 2. Take the sqare root of both sides. That's + or - 2. Now add 1 to both sides.
The x-intercepts are:
x = 1+2 = 3
x = 1-2 = -1
