Question 272053: how do I graph y=-1/3x-4
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=-1/3x-4
Y=mX+b where m=slope & b=the Y intercept.
You already have the y intercept (0,-4).
Now set y=0 and solve for the x intercept.
0=-x/3-4
-x/3=4
-x=12
x=-12 or (-12,0)
Plot these 2 points (0,-4) & (-12,0) & draw a line through them.
(graph 300x200 pixels, x from -16 to 5, y from -10 to 10, -x/3 -4).
