Have to get both of them into y-intercept form.
So, first one:
Move the x over:
2y=-x%2B9
Divide both sides by 2:
y=-%281%2F2%29x%2B9
Second one:
Move the 2x over:
4y=-2x%2B3
Divide both sides by 4:
y=-%281%2F2%29x%2B3
To find out if they are perpendicular, compare the slopes:
In the first one m=-1%2F2, and in the second one, m=-1%2F2 also.
To be perpendicular the slopes need to be negative and inverse of each other. These slopes are equal, so the lines are parallel.
So, no, not perpendicular.
