Question 221275: hi, i'm having trouble in sketching a graph of a function
the function is y = 2x^2 -11x +12
i don't know where to start, do i factorise the equation?
if i do factorise it i will get (x-1.5)(x-4) where do i go from that? :S
thank you!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
hi, i'm having trouble in sketching a graph of a function
the function is y = 2x^2 -11x +12
i don't know where to start, do i factorise the equation?
if i do factorise it i will get (x-1.5)(x-4) where do i go from that? :S
--------------
Don't factor it to make a graph.
Make a table of values. Pick values for x and sub them to find y. Plot the points and connect them with a smooth curve.
----------
x...y
-----
0 12 (0,12)
1 3 (1,3)
2 -2 (2,-2)
---------
You can use Excel to make the table, and then the graph.
Or, you can DL FREE software from
