If it is a 8 day crossing and they have 5 days of water, and then they have to go back also then...16 days of water needed. 5 days per person. Do you see where im going with this?
16 / 5 = 3 and 1/5 which means for that 1/5 and extra person would have to go. So 4 people minimum would be your answer. Good luck on your homework!
