You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Graph f(x)= x^2+2x-6
Find the vertex, write as a coordinate, find line of symmetry, max or min?
----------------------------
Since the coefficient of x^2 is positive you have a max.
------------
Vertex:
The vertex occurs where x = -b/2a = -2/2 = -1
f(-1) = (-1)^2 +2*-1-6 = 1-2-6 = -7
Vertex is (-1,-7)
----------------------
Axis of symmetry passes thru the vertex and is vertical
So axis is x = -1
