You can put this solution on YOUR website!
What is the correct way to graph a point that is a Fraction? For Example; 1/2x+4/5y=2. The Slope comes out to be -5/8 and the point is 5/2. How do i graph the fraction so that I may be able to complete the equation?
-----------------------------------------
Solve for y:
Multiply thru by 10 to get:
5x + 8y = 20
y = (-5/8)x+(5/2)
---
Let x = 0, then y = 2.5 giving you point (0, 2.5)
Let x = 8, then y = -5 + 2.5 = -2.5 giving you point (8, -2.5)
