Question 147063: Hello, I need help solving equation like the following:
0.7(3x + 4) ≥ 1.3 – (x+2)
I know I remove the parentheses by multiplying
2.1x + 2.8 ≥ -1.3x? + -2.6
I am not sure if I multiply –x and -2 by 1.3 if so, I have

I add 1.3x to each side and get 3.4x and subtract 2.8 from each side and get
3.4x ≥ - 5.4
Divide both sides by 3.4
X = -5.4 OR 1.6 rounded. I know this is incorrect but where did I go wrong?
3.4
Thank you for your help.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2.1x%2B2.8+%3E=1.3-%28x%2B2%29 Left hand side is OK, but what happened on the right hand side?
2.1x%2B2.8+%3E=1.3-x-2%29
2.1x%2B2.8+%3E=-x-0.7%29
To get rid of the decimals, multiply both sides by 10.
2.1x%2B2.8+%3E=-x-0.7%29
21x%2B28+%3E=-10x-7%29
I'll let you take it from there.
