You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The symbol < relates 2 quantities. The symbol is read "is less than"
If I write a+%3C+b, this is read "a is less than b"
The symbol > also relates 2 quantities, and is read "is greater than"
If I write a+%3E+b, this is read "a is greater than b"

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
< means "is less than" and > means "is greater than"

As in 3+%3C+5, read "three is less than five"

x+%3E+2, read "x is greater than two"

You will also see:

≤, meaning "is less than or equal to"

≥, meaning "is greater than or equal to"
