To graph a line, you must know at least two points along the line. Start by picking a number(prefferably low) for x. I'll pick 3. Plug this into your equation to get:
y=-3%5E2%2B1


Solve the exponent:
y=9%2B1


Add:
y=10


So, this gives you an ordered pair of (3,10). If you repeat this process, you will get another ordered pair. Plot both of them and draw your line.
