You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the y-intercept is the value of y when x = 0.
the x-intercept is the value of x when y = 0.

to find the x-intercept, set the value of y equal to 0 and then solve for x.
your equation becomes 0 = 2x + 8
subtract 8 from both sides of the equation to get:
-8 = 2x
solve for x to get:
x = -4
that's your x-intercept.

to solve for the y-intercept, set the value of x equal to 0.
your equation becomes y = 2 * 0 + 8
solve for y to get:
y = 8
that's your y-intercept.

here's a graph of the equation.

you can see that x = -4 when y = 0 and y = 8 when x = 0

the x-intercept is at x = -4.
the y-intercept is at y = 8

in (x,y) format that becomes:

the x-intercept is at (-4,0).
the y-intercept is at (0,8)
