OMG did that question really come from a textbook?

It is nonsense!!

The graph shows the "distance traveled" DECREASING between 12 hours and 20 hours.

That is nonsense.

You might be able to reverse direction and head back towards where you came from, to decrease the DISTANCE FROM YOUR STARTING POINT; but the DISTANCE TRAVELED does not decrease, it increases.

You would think writers of textbooks would be more careful with what they put into students' minds....
