From (-9,-21) to (-1,-8), the change in the x direction is from -9 to -1, a change of +8; the change in the y direction is from -21 to -8, a change of +13.

The slope is the change in y divided by the change in x: 13/8.

Only one answer choice has the correct slope, so it must be the right equation. (or else the problem is flawed....)
