Question 110578: i dont get direct variation it says: Write the equation of direct variation that includes the given point. The given point is (3,1) how do i solve this? Answer by scott8148(6628) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! direct variation means that x and y both get bigger or smaller together
(with inverse variation, one gets bigger while the other gets smaller)
the general equation for direct variation is y=kx ... k is called the constant of variation
the problem is asking you to find k and write the equation ... hint: plug in the values of the point to find k
