Find the value of x such that the line containing the points (x,2) and (5,x) has -3 as slope.
Using the slope formula
%28%28x-2%29%29%2F%28%285-x%29%29 = -3
x - 2 = -3(5-x)
x - 2 = -15 + 3x
-2 + 15 = 3x - x
13 = 2x
x = 13/2
x = 6.5
