Question 1003829: Hello, My brother is taking a math class online for univ of phoenix. It is point slope equations and we are able to figure everything out except the last part which solves for y. example problem is below.
Slope = 3/4 Point - (6,-1)
Here is our work:
y-y1=m(x-x1)
y-(-1)=3/4(x-6)
y+1=3/4(x-6)
now the answer we found on a calculator online states y=3/4x-11/2
we cannot for the life of us figure out how to get to that answer. Please help.
