Question 516394: Use an indirect proof in the paragraph method to show: that John exceeded the 55mph speed limit if he left his house at 8:15 a.m. and arrived at his office 60 miles away at 9:00 a.m. Answer by richard1234(7193) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Suppose that John did not exceed the speed limit. Then his maximum (average) speed would be 55 mph. In 45 minutes he would have definitely traveled less than 60 miles, so we have a contradiction, and John exceeded the speed limit.
