Make two columns. The first column is for assertions of fact. The second column is for the Given, Axiom, Theorem, or Corollary that proves the assertion.

Write down your givens in the first column. Write "Given" in the second column next to each of your given assertions.

Write an assertion in the first column that gets you closer to being able to assert what it is you want to prove. Write the reason for this assertion in the second column. Repeat this step until you are able to assert what you are asked to prove.

Write "Q.E.D" at the bottom.
