The sum the angles in a trangle is 180.
So triangle CDM = angle 2 + angle 3 = 180 - the angle supplemental to 1
triangle CDB = angle 4 + angleDCB = 180 - the angle supplemental to 1
Since te two terms on the left equal the same term on the right, they are eqaul to each other
