Question 201171: CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THIS QUESTION.
Demand for pools. Tropical Pools sells an aboveground
model for p dollars each. The monthly revenue for this
model is given by the formula
R(p)= -0.08p2 + 300p.
Revenue is the product of the price p and the demand
(quantity sold).
a) Factor out the price on the right-hand side of the
formula.
b) Write a formula D(p) for the monthly demand.
c) Find D(3000).
d) Use the accompanying graph to estimate the price at
which the revenue is maximized. Approximately how
many pools will be sold monthly at this price?
e) What is the approximate maximum revenue?
f) Use the accompanying graph to estimate the price at
which the revenue is zero.

Suppose instead that the town experiences quadratic growth of the form P= 7t^2=Po where t is the time of years from 2010. The Po=1000
A)Insert the value of Po that your group has decided upon into the equation. Use t^2 to type t-squared
B) Fill in the following chart.
Year(t) Population(p)
T=0(2010) Po=
T=1(2011) Po=
T=2(2012) Po=
T=3(2013) Po=
T=6(2016) Po=
C) Use your equation from part a to approximate how may years it will take for the population to reach 12,000. Round to the nearest whole year when necessary.

Question 202011: If y=f(x) is such that f(2b-1)=4b^2 + 2b -3 for any real value b, find an expression for f(x).
The answer is f(x)= x^2 + 3x -1.
I divided 4b^2 + 2b -3 by 2b-1 which gives quotient of 2b + 2 remainder -1.
That's f(2b-1)= {(2b + 2)(2b -1)} -1 .
I don't know how to figure out (2b + 2). Please help. Thank you.
