Question 172052: hello, I'm having problems with this math problem, your help would be very appreciated. Here it is...
The relationship between the selling price of a sleeping bag, s dollars, and the revenue at that selling price, r(s) dollars, is represented by the function r(s)=-10s^2 + 1500s. Evaluate, interpret, and compare r(29.95), r(60.00), r(75.00), r(90.00), and r(130.00).
Do I have to go through each one and substitute into the equation like so...r(29.95) = -10(29.95)^2 + 1500(29.95), solve, and compare ?

The fencing along the highway costs $10 per foot and the rest of the fencing costs $7 a foot. The total money available for fencing is $6,000. The cost equation for the fencing is 7(2W+L)+10L = 6000, where L is the length of the lot and W is the width of the lot. The area of the lot, A, is given by the formula A=LW.
Can you step me through the following:
1. By writing the width as a function of the length, find the width of the lot, if its length is 100 feet (Width = ).
2. Write the area of the lot as a function of the length (A(L) = ).
3. What will be the area of the lot if the length is 100 feet (Area = )?

Question 173778: The function H described by H(x)=2.75(x)+71.48 can be used to predict the height, in centimeters, of a woman whose humerus is x cm long.
Predict the height of a woman whose humerus is 37cm long.
I started this problem but I don't know if I am doing it right, what I did was this:
H(x)=2.75(x)+71.48
I plugged 37 in for x.
H(37)=2.75(37)+71.48
And I got H(37)=173.23
I just want to know if I have done this correctly. I feel very confused.
