Determine which of the value(s) given below, if any, must be excluded from the domain of the variable in each expression.
(a) x=3 (b) x=1 (c) x=0 (d) x=-1
1.) x^2 - 1 / x
2.) x / x^2 - 9
3.) x^2 / x^2 + 1
4.) x^2 + 5x - 10 / x^3 - x
Thank you.

Question 1041912: For , solve for the domain and range in interval notation
I found already the domain:
(-infinity,3) u (3,+infinity)
and i'm confident that it is correct.
What confuses me is finding the Range.
I'm not confident on my answer:
(- infinity , 0] u [0, 3) u (3, + infinity)
can you give me the correct range in INTERVAL NOTATION and explain it efficiently? thanks.

Question 1041914: For , solve for the domain and range in interval notation
I found already the domain:
(-infinity,3) u (3,+infinity)
and i'm confident that it is correct.
What confuses me is finding the Range.
I'm not confident on my answer:
(- infinity , 2] u [2, + infinity)
for the + infinity there, i mean it to be positive but approaching zero making 2 as the maximum output that can be obtained in this function.
I'm lost in that part. so can you give me the correct range in INTERVAL NOTATION and explain it efficiently? thanks.

Question 1042255: A type of aquatic bird known as a cormorant is flying over open water and accidentally drops a small fish from a height of 30 feet. The distance the fish is from the water as it falls can be described by the function h(t)=-16t^2+30 where t= time in seconds. A seagull spies the falling fish and flies along a straight line to intercept the fish. His line of flight represented by the linear equation g(t)=-8^t+15
PART 1 After how many seconds does the seagull catch the falling fish?
PART 2 After the seagull catches the fish he changes his travel path to k(t)=-2t+12.The cormorant chases the seagull in an attempt to try to win back the fish, descending along the path -t^2+15.How many feet above the water will the cormorant catch up to the seagull?

Question 1042657: Please help me solve this question.
Suppose the functions g, h, l are defined as follows:
g(x) = 1/2x -3
h(x) =
l(x) = 2 - x - 3
1.1 Write down Dg and solve the equation 4^g(x) = 8
1.2 Write down Dg+h and solve the equation g(x) + h(x) = 0
1.3 Write down Dg.l without first calculating g(x).h(x) = 0
1.4 Write down Dl/g without first calculating l(x)/ g(x)
